Today Mum and I went to Oxford. It's one of our favourite places. The people are friendly and the shops are good. You can often find things there that are not available in London. As it's winter there's not much point in walking along by the River Cherwell. Mind you, we did that last summer and got caught in a storm. The rain came down the minute we arrived there.

The weather was good, but cold. We encountered rain on the journey from London. I took some pictures of the sky from the coach. It was very dramatic, but reflections and raindops on the glass may have spoiled the pictures.

We arrived rather late, so we just did some shopping. Got some nice things at Boswell's department store.

We went to the indoor market which was beautifully decorated. The butcher had turkeys hanging up outside. Definitely a no-go area for vegetarians. We finished the day by having a meal at The Old Orleans. See PigBlog.

It might seem funny to have a travel diary when I don't go anywhere much, but I think it would be nice to keep a record of where I do go. Truth is I like to sleep in my own bed a night so day trips suit me just fine. I also like to spend my money on hobbies and home entertainment, and foreign travel takes up a lot of cash.

The place I really want to go to is New York. At the moment I will have to content myself with a cyber tour which I have created on my website Jenna's Millennium Page.

I have this week off work, so I will be going places. Yesterday I went to Kingston-upon-Thames in Surrey.
